Mynor Pelaez Luken is an artist and musician with multiple talents.

Drawing on inspiration from diverse musical influences including Stevie Wonder, Elvis, Axyl Rose and Michael Jackson, Mynor masterfully couples artistic experiences from his childhood abroad with the rich, fast-paced experiences of an emerging young, Chicago-based musician.

Born in Guatemala and coming of age in America, Mynor began sowing the seeds of his musical career at the age of three through the performance of skits and songs for his family.

By age 10, Mynor began his mastery of guitar. A year later, he joined a teen rock band as a guitarist and background vocalist. As the youngest member and only pre-teen, Mynor performed at venues throughout Guatemala, turning his childhood desire into the beginnings of a career of professional music performance. He then began writing music for the band a few years later and was promoted to lead singer.

In 2010, Mynor moved to Park Ridge, Illinois to pursue his musical career. In high school, Mynor showed a talent for the performing arts by appearing in all types of talent shows and musicals such as the Hispanic culture sing along “In the Heights” to the 1920s musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

During high school, Mynor met and began collaborating with future band mates; Randy Lawrence and Nikko Magpayo. Together, Mynor and Randy began writing original songs, including songs featured on their debut EP, “Much More” and “This Distance.” Randy’s featured rapping in the song “This Distance” acts as a counterpoint to the Reggae inspired pop vibe of the track. His lyrical contributions can be described as poetic as he connects directly with the listener through his flow. His vocal stylings bring a unique and positive presence to the Mynor project. .
Nikko, an extraordinary natural writer is the third piece of the Mynor project. He brings his ability as a guitar player and insightful lyric writer to Mynor’s project. It is the interplay of these 3 friends who have worked on music together since high school that creates the unique sound that is Mynor.

In 2014, Mynor organized a fundraiser for an orphanage in Guatemala. Here, Mynor connected with a music promoter and started performing at various venues in the Chicago area including: House of Blues, Reggies, Martyr’s, Bottom Lounge.

In 2016 Mynor was signed to Midwest Music Group and production on their debut EP began. The first single “Fits You Right” was released in September 1st of 2017. This track is an ode to beauty on the inside and speaks to the stereotypical ideas of appearance.
Backed by a crack 7 piece band for live performance keep your eyes and ears open for the next great act coming from Chicago, in a word MYNOR.
